Online Driver's Education

Many students are finding that they live too far away to come to our facility on a daily basis or that they are just too busy to fit a driver education course into their schedule. Others would prefer to do the work at home on their own home computer. The On-line course may be the option for you. In this option you do the classroom portion of your driver ed course through Driversed.com and you would do the driving portion with 5 Star Driver Education Center. We still give the BMV portion of the drive test at the end of the course.

The fees for the course are $89 for the online access and $250 for the driving portion.

Here's the process:

  1. Mail it or bring it to the John Jay Center with payment for the driving portion ($250) Checks need to be made out to 5 Star Driving
  2. When we receive your registration, we will return a copy of the contract with a code that you will use to access Driversed.com.We will also send you the CDE form. This is the form you take with your required ID to the BMV. You will not have to take a written test at the BMV until you are applying for your license.
  3. When you have your permit, contact our office (765-730-1813) for drive times.
  4. When you complete the Driversed.com course, you will receive a certificate. Please print a copy of your Drivered.com certificate so we can give you the drive test!
  5. When you have completed your driving and the Driversed.com course, you will be eligible to take the drive test with us. (You must have a B- or higher in both driving and the Driversed.com course.)
  6. Congratulations! You need only to turn 16 and 180 days and you will be driving! We would encourage you to come to one of our "test prep" classes before you take your written test at the BMV. These classes are usually near the end of each month and they are FREE!
